Tomcat can’t be put in a trusted repo like EPEL or maybe RPMFusion Hell I would even take just clear documentation from them on updates Apache doesn’t provide a repo file we can add to yum/dnf. If I just restore the old conf it could cause problems and I don’t wanna compare/merge them for every minor release.Īlso, when you say “undeploying” web apps, what do you mean? Hopefully you don’t mean blowing them away and re-setting them up every tomcat update. For example who’s to say a newer version doesn’t have something new in the conf.
Seems like a terrible path to keeping a critical software/role up to date.
